EASTERN SHORE
From the saltwater marshes of the Chesapeake Bay to the shores of Assateague Island, the Eastern Shore is an area I have spent much of my time exploring and working with companies such as the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, T&F Camera, and local artists in pursuit of educating others about the nature wonders to be found in this coastal area.
The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center is a 510 acre nature preserve on the Eastern Shore of Maryland dedicated to preservation and education. T&F Camera is a camera store located in Southern New Jersey that offers workshops and educational programs along with selling camera gear. I had the opportunity to be a guest speaker for the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center summer camp during July and August, teaching elementary school campers about Maryland wildlife and photography. I also led a field workshop with T&F Camera on the shores of Stone Harbor Beach where I taught workshop participants how to photograph shorebirds in new and creative ways.

From exploring the shores alongside the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse to kayaking through the calm waters of the most northern Cypress Forest, I learned how crucial the Eastern Shore is both ecologically and historically.
Eastern Exploration
It was so interesting to watch and photograph wildlife flourishing in these vital environments. Waking up early to see shorebirds feed at daybreak, watching Bottlenose Dolphins surf in boat wakes, photographing Purple Martin fledglings in the sand dunes, and following a herd of Assateague Wild Ponies for the summer were all amazing experiences that have taught me so much.

Exploring the Eastern Shore has been a project I have been so excited to plan, photograph, and take part in. The people I have met and worked with have been so generous and inspiring, and the incredible natural beauty to be found throughout this part of the East Coast has left me even more motivated for my next project.
